Collaborative Communication for Our Work for Peace and Social Justice, an Introduction to NVC, emphasizing the contributions/practices of , Martin Luther King, Jr., Paulo Freire and economist Max Neef to the needs consciousness of Marshall Rosenberg.
On October 2, in every state, in every country, on every continent, people will gather in empathic listening, connecting, and action so that we may see all beings integrate suffering to become free, fully alive, and resolve differences peacefully.
International Day for Empathic Action (IDEA) Events and Activities will take place all over the world aware of each other to create unity, community, and a world-wide understanding of empathy.
Nonviolent Communication (NVC) is more than a way of talking to one another -- it is a way of being in the world that supports us in experiencing satisfying relationships, inner peace, compassion, authenticity and aliveness. NVC offers recipes for communicating but these rely on a foundation involving a shift in consciousness. Please join CNVC Certified Trainer Bob Wentworth for an afternoon-long experiential introduction to this exciting body of ideas and practices.
Both Buddhist teachings and personal experience show that we suffer to the extent that we are attached to things being a certain way -- grasping for what we want, or in aversion to what we don't want. At the same time, life energy resides in our desires and longings, and in moving towards what we value. How can have the aliveness and sense of direction that come from fully want ing what we want, while remaining openhearted about the possibility of not getting it? Please join CNVC Certified Trainer Bob Wentworth to experience an exploration around this issue.

"My intention is to continue the conversations I started at the community event held in January...and to start new ones," says Rhonda Eldridge, one of the event's co-organizers.
Capitol NVC and the GWU Office of Community Service and Peace Studies Program invite you to an introductory immersion into Compassionate Communication.
In Nonviolent Communication (NVC), one learns the value of "going where the life is" -- noticing what is going on in the moment that seems to matter, have vitality at the heart of it, and focusing our attention there. This non-class will be dedicated to that precept. There is no syllabus. Instead, the facilitator will lead each session based on what is alive for him that day, and what is alive in those who show up to participate. Our time together will be grounded in understandings about life as offered by NVC and by the spiritual underpinnings of NVC.
